Good oral hygiene is very important, not only for your teeth but for general health as well. It is important to note that the infections of the oral cavity such as periodontal disease or chronic periapical osteitis (granuloma) can be the cause of various other diseases (arthritis, cardiac or cerebral insult, renal disease or dermatologic disease).
The goal of dentistry is not only to treat but also to work preventively and educate our patients. Consequently we gladly devote and dedicate our time to dental hygiene and prophylaxis.
Comfortable and painless removal of soft and hard dental plaque is done with Sonicflex tips and air polished with a Prophyflex tip.
We protect the teeth by fluoridising and sealing.
Good hygiene is the basis of health and beauty.
Advice on dental hygiene
Curasept
How often should I brush my teeth?
According to the American Dental Association it is enough to brush your teeth twice a day. Choose your tooth brush carefully, it should not be too large so that it can reach everywhere. Rather choose a medium hard or a soft brush than a hard one. Brush the surfaces of your teeth thoroughly using circular motions.
How often should I floss?
Use dental floss at least once a day. There are many different types of dental floss. Choose a product that suits you best. Even if your teeth are really close together, thin, waxed dental floss can pass through the narrowest of gaps. You can use very practical interdental brushes which can reach even the most inaccessible areas between the teeth.
Should I use mouth rinse?
The role of mouth rinse is primarily to reduce bacterial plaque. Along with mechanic brushing, the effect of chlorhexidin, which is the active ingredient of the rinse, slows down the development of the bacterial biofilm. There are many pleasant products of different concentrations to choose from. It is best to consult your dentist your choices of mouth rinse.

What is teeth whitening and how is it done?
The whitening procedure is conducted with carbamide peroxide agents (gels), which taste nice, and are used in several different concentrations. During your first consultation we take your teeth impressions, later we make a precise model of your teeth and your own special personalized tray. The whitening agent is applied to the tray and it is worn a couple of hours a day (or during the night), depending on its concentration.
Can anyone whiten their teeth?
Before the whitening procedure consultation is needed. The whitening is most effective on teeth that have not been severely restored. If you have a treated tooth which is severely discolored, has a crown or extensive fillings, this tooth is not going to be whitened. Such teeth demand different type of treatment.
Is the procedure safe?
Research and clinical studies have shown that dentist supervised whitening is safe. Carbamide peroxide in whitening gels and solutions is ph-neutral, does not damage the enamel and is approved by the FDA.
Are there any side effects?
Some patients experience increased sensitivity which is only temporary and will definitely cease several days after the procedure is completed.
How long do these results last?
Teeth will always remain lighter than they were but in some patients it is necessary to repeat the procedure after a year or two. It is important to maintain a thorough hygiene and avoid smoking as these will contribute to the final result.
